Martha Radditz on ABC is reporting that he was killed and his body was found several days ago, and that recent activity in the White House has been due to their waiting on DNA tests to confirm it really was him.
Wow. I don’t know if it’s revenge or justice, but right now it is viscerally satisfying.

I wonder what they are going to do with his body. Personally I think he should be dumped in a wood chipper and fed to pigs. But it might project a better image in the Arab world if we treated it with respect, as utterly abhorrent as that idea might be.
I suppose he will be cremated and his ashes dumped into the ocean far offshore.

Obama’s Wikipedia page is already listing him as dead. I actually know people – Americans and others – who believe the conspiracy theories about the US helping him and say (said) he’ll never be caught.

And you’re DAMN TOOTIN’ Obama gets the credit! He DID what Bush only PRETENDED to do, strapping on his fake flight gear and standing in front of a “Mission Accomplished” banner.
We got bin Laden in spite of what Bush did, which is set this mission back half a decade at least. As John Kerry rightly pointed out, we’d have had his ass if we hadn’t retreated from Tora Bora.

Actually, Obama promised to intensify the campaign in Afghanistan. He promised this clearly and repeatedly, whenever the issue was raised, all throughout the 2008 election campaign. I’m surprised you missed it.
Anyway, it’s the military that deserves the credit. Personally, I don’t see how Obama can claim any credit for this unless he can demonstrate that Bin Laden was killed by the U.S. Army in an area in which he’d ordered them to conduct operations. That is to say, in an area where they wouldn’t have been investigating otherwise. Either way, Bush had 7 years to find Bin Laden and failed. Let me ask you, what was Bush supposed to do after 9/11? Do you really think he could have gotten away with not invading Afghanistan? Of course not. The public would have had his head. Instead he did the next best thing, he diverted essential resources into Iraq and basically forgot about the whole mess, claiming, when asked, that Bin Laden didn’t matter. He deserves no credit whatsoever.
Can you imagine the number of high fives Obama has been giving out this week in the White House? Dude’s gotta been struttin’ around like a peacock for the last 48 hours.
I don’t know how to feel. A man’s dead and I feel happy about it. I feel elated but vaguely guilty for feeling elated. It feels like some kind of weight has been lifted, but its not like I thought about this every day. There are still terrorists. There are still wars. But some how, for some reason I feel relieved.
OK so… how do they know it’s definitely him? You’ve seen one old bearded Arab guy in a turban, you’ve seen them all.
My next question is: Will it be shown that PAKISTAN KNEW ALL ALONG where he was and was protecting him?
Don’t think we should ever cheer at someone else’s death.
But I have to say that this was a legitimate target in a legitimate war, and his death comes from his refusal to surrender… so I don’t cheer his death, but I DO cheer the tenacious work of our armed forces and our government, and the knowledge that we don’t need to fear another plot from him causing thousands more deaths.
