As I understand it, he’s the presumptive nominee. It’s not official until the convention.
And coached the US mens badminton doubles team.
Neither has McCain, But he did compete for Team Vietnam in '80, '84 and '88.
I am soooo going to hell for that one.
Anyone got some hot pics?
DtC beat me to it.
Remember that picture was from way early in spring training.

If Clinton hadn’t made all those tantrum-ey noises she made about “the people being heard,” “the popular vote is the true indicator of who won,” and “I’d win if you count this but don’t count that, while crossing your eyes and spitting on the floor,* etc.” perhaps it wouldn’t seem patronizing.
- I made that last part up.

Can we get some video of that?
An Olympics Surge? Just a wild-assed guess.
My friends, the Olympic spirit has been with John McCain since a North Vietnamese guard came up to him in the yard of his prison camp and scratched five interlocking rings in the dirt.
Can you tell me what you’re referring to here?

An ‘anecdote’ apparently stolen from Solzhenitsyn
Some more McCain fast and loose
Still, he did bring down the Death Star even though his targeting system was switched off so I guess we can cut him some slack.

Are you saying that my three paraphrases (except the eye-crossing and floor-spitting part I said I made up) of Clinton’s statements are not out there for all to google?

I am saying your description of Clinton as a petulant, tantrum throwing whiner is false.
I believe the OP references the Breast Stroke.
Brilliant.
Are we doing a running joke where we pretend to believe Obama’s a Muslim?
(I wish we would elect a Muslim president. I don’t think the current one understand Islam at all.)
What does the convention really mean, these days? I think I’ll go re-watch The Best Man.
If she has delegates pledged to her at the convention, doesn’t someone have to put her name in nomination? Seems like just a formality to me. I mean, if Obama doesn’t do it, someone will, right?
I’m no fan of HRC, but I seriously doubt she’d try to switch things around at this point–at least, not if she’s serious about putting a Democrat in the White House, which should be the priority here. Changing it now would just hand the election to McCain and the Republicans–the ultimate “flip-flop”, if you will.
Much ado about nothing, IMHO.
Well, we can start with her refusing to concede the nomination gracefully and promptly after she lost it by delegate count.
Then, we can go onto the embarrassment of trying to elbow her way onto the ticket as VP.
Now, wanting this empty gesture of being nominated.
It strikes me as very petulant and childish.
No it doesn’t have to be done. OTOH, if some ticked off delegates decide to do it, no one can really stop it.
What offends me is not that her name may be presented by some die-hards for nomination, but that SHE is apparently insisting it be done. And of course, it’s all for “her” people.
I did wonder why she wasn’t conceding.
I guess I can remember her supporters making arguments that she should be VP, but making that kind of argument isn’t the same thing as “elbowing one’s way in.” What do you mean by “elbowing in” here?
Everything I’ve read and seen on the news relevant to this indicates that this was the Obama campaign’s idea, not hers. That could be spin, of course, but I’d need to see evidence that it was her idea before I took the position that it was her idea.
