Obama, are you bloody stupid?

Here’s the first story I found, from CNN.

Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign has agreed to put former rival Sen. Hillary Clinton’s name in nomination at the Democratic National Convention this month.

This doesn’t mean it was their idea in the first place.

A Democratic Party operative familiar with convention plans said the move would bring “peace in the kingdom.”

The source added the Obama campaign “always knew it would probably have to happen.” "They have known since the day she dropped out that she wanted this ‘for history,’ " the operative said…

Many die-hard Clinton fans have been hoping that her name would appear on the ballot.

At a gathering last month in California, Clinton suggested that doing so could provide a “catharsis” for her supporters.

“I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views were respected,” Clinton said.

Clinton said she wanted her supporters to leave the convention feeling their voices were heard and satisfied with Obama as the nominee.

I think it is a smart move. She won’t get any more votes than already pledged to her and it will prove beoynd a shadow of a doubt that Obama is the people’s choice and help put an end to any talk that he tried to shut Hillary out of the process. He is also showing great confidence in his own popularity and message. He has nothing to fear from this, and by welcoming it he shows himself to be confident, fair, and gracious. Its all a plus for him.

Also if Clinton tries to torpedo him it will be the end of her career forever. In spite of what some people think she does have a couple decades left to pursue her political ambitions. A show of grace by her this round will strengthen her in the future. She is smart enough to know that destroying the dems best chance will ruin her as well. (I hope)
