Success? They don’t have the presidency or the Senate. They have a narrow house edge. They do however filbusrter the Senate in a new and un-American way.
Oh, absolutely. In fact, that oft-mentioned “permanent Republican majority” is well on its way to becoming a reality. Very astute, fer shur.
So why should Obama not advance the tax deal at this point? He’s committed now. It’s not like any supporters who are angry at him right now will suddenly forgive him if it falls through, so why should he bother?
I don’t think in soundbites and this capitulation makes no sense to me.
You’ve talked me down a great deal but I know enough Republicans to know better. They are doing what they think its going to work. Why give up on the tax cuts for the rich when Obama is going to cave on the issue.
I hope this works out the way Obama plans (if he has a plan).
Obama isn’t going to pull the deal, that doesn’t mean that the Democrats in congress will go along.
All I want to say is that Shayna has gotten me more fired up than Obama ever has.
