Looks like a November surprise, but I don’t think it will change much really.
I and my Darling Marcie voted Thursday, so at least this part of Florida is committed to Obama. No add run by any damned republican is going to change my mind at this point and probably never would have in the first place. After eight years of the worst President in my lifetime, I’ve had more than enough; I don’t understand how anybody can vote for McCain.
ORANGE ALERT!! Monday evening. Reliable sources have discovered a plot by (…) to overthrow the current administration, toss the world financial markets into disarray, steal your homes, AND destroy the fabric of America.
Voting canceled (including early ballots in states). The Supreme Court will decide the election based on established precedent (quoted from Justice Scalia, noted strict constructionist when it suits him).
Some have noted that even President Bush didn’t ask SCOTUS to intervene. This was dismissed out of hand by Chief Justice Roberts. “You’re either with us or a terrorist”, he announced. “We will do due diligence in ascertaining the will of the public before anointing a true successor.” “Where’s that damn robe with all the golden thingies”?
My dad and I voted a week early, after he turned to me said, “just watch, they’ll find a dozen bodies in his fridge tomorrow.”
Since the economic crisis got serious in September, people have displayed a surprising amount of apathy to stuff like this. I guess they considere it a luxury item they can’t afford anymore.
There’s already a Pit thread about these 527 ads. They’ve been running for weeks, and Pennsylvania and Ohio still look like a lost cause for McCain.
