On the one hand, it would be great if this actually shut up Trump but he’ll just move on to some other unsubstantiated crap and I’ll still have to look at his fishlipped bad comb-overed face everytime I turn on the tv or go online.
On the other hand, I hate that Trump will take all the credit for the release and be even more obnoxious about what other crap he scrapes up from the bottle of the barrel and he still won’t shut the fuck up and go away.
If it were some regular politician then they might be discredited. But The Donald is going to stroke his own ego up with this and become even more insufferable.
“It’s Huge!, only I could force this out in the open!” You know the drill. He is going to be all over every news outlet claiming that he, and only he, could have forced the issue.
In another world he would be Don, the wacky, loud mouth, truck driver who delivers the stationary on Tuesdays.
But it is not that world.

It hardly matters now. The only ones who take this seriously are those who have already made their tiny minds up on the matter. A mountain of birth certificates, authenticated by a panel of experts, sanctified by the supreme court, corroborated by unimpeachable eyewitness testimony, etc., etc., ad ridiculum, wouldn’t make the least bit of difference to a devout conspiracy theorist.

They’re exactly right. Obviously, Obama was really born in the sovereign nation of “Africa”.
I was born in San Diego - or so my mother tells me - and the piece of paper that got me passports, enlisted in the Navy, married, and a number of Secret and Top Secret clearances over the years says “Certificate of Live Birth” at the top. Maybe I’m not a true American after all!! :eek:
My bet is Trump still has the smarts that made him his money (well, he can’t be that smart if he’s always been a Republican … 
) but there was a large contingent of Republicans who are also birthers, and (afaik, I don’t follow the Republican race much) there was no leading candidate to lead the birhters. Donald went in saying “I’m an attention whore! I’ll take your case and look like I care about it in order to get my face on TV more and have people pay attention to me!” When Sarah Palin declares her candidacy, Donald will probably drop out voluntarily.

dhkendall, it’s really not threadworthy. When I was on active duty as well as when I worked for the Navy as a civilian, I held jobs that required security clearances. I wasn’t a spy nor did I ever work in intelligence. I’m an engineer.
Just as an example - I was assigned a control box faceplate design that had to list some frequencies on it. Those frequencies were classified because they apparently revealed the capabilities of the equipment the control box controlled. In order to do the drawings, I needed a clearance. Exciting, huh? Similar deal when I was a technician - I was responsible for repairing crypto communications gear, so I needed a clearance.
Now, back to mocking birthers…

He proved the original birth certificate was correct and should have been accepted. There was obviously no reason for the righties to go crazy. The long form proves the short form was fine. Perhaps the next black president will not have to go through that.
Hey, I just thought of something - has anyone seen his alleged marriage license? How do we know Michelle can rightfully claim the title of First Lady? How can we be sure they’re not sullying the White House by “shacking up” and “living in sin”?!?!?

I don’t see a slit. I just see the edge of it where it was in the book. It was in a book with 499 other certificates.
Either that, or the slit is the result of it being counterfeit. 
The spine of the book it was photocopied out of. The original is bound with a bunch of other documents in some Hawaiian records storage building somewhere.
It just looks a little weird because of the security paper it was copied onto.
