Obama to accept at stadium

Obama will accept the nomination at Invesco Field.
But that’s not what I came to talk about; I came to quote Howard Dean getting on the bandwagon:

Yeah, right.

When life hands you lemons, you tell them your overall goal was to make lemonade in the first place, even if it’ll end up tasting like sour grape juice.

I don’t get this thread at all.

I’m confused…he’s already spoken to 75 000 people.

I’m missing something.

He’s going to see how many loaves and fishes he can distribute.

According to NPR, he needs votes in that area.
The sour grapes thing is the point of the thread. Dean pioneered the get lots of money from public donations on the web. He campaigned even in states were he wouldn’t do well, so did Obama.
Most importantly in my opinion is that Obama will have not only the job he ran for, President, but his current job, heading the Democratic Party.

That didn’t help. Especially the last line.

Howard Dean wanted to be President. He lost out in the primary to Kerry.
Dean is the Chairman of the Democratic Party. He’s enjoyed pushing folks around. If Obama is elected, he will be Chairman by definition of the Democratic Party. Dean is annoyed, jealous perhaps and trying to claim some of the glory with silly statements like “Me, too!”

Better?

I found the NPR
It would mean more exposure in Colorado, a chance to woo more voters.

So Dean speaking approvingly of a decision by the Democratic candidate is evidence that Dean is jealous of said candidate?

Dean is the Chairman of the DNC. Enitirely different kettle of fish. His job is to get Obama elected. Dean will still be DNC chairman after the presidential election.

I think Mindfield expressed it very well.

Dean arguably does deserve some credit for what’s going on.

Right, but President Obama will be the de facto leader of the party by virtue of being the highest ranking Democrat in the country.

So the insinuation is that Dean would prefer to be the highest ranking Democrat in the country, rather than have a Democrat be President?

That can’t be it. I’m still confused.

Naw, he’s just jealous and did that silly “Me, too! Me, too!” thing.

So.
How do you guys feel about Hillary Clinton and Katherine Janeway?

Eh, I guess you can read the quote that way, but it reads just as well with Dean simply saying he agrees with Obama’s “philosophy” and the decision to move to a stadium. I mean, its not like he was out randomly shouting this out at a street corner, he was specifically answering reporters questions about whether the move was worth the cost/added difficulties.

Hey, you’re from Vermont! No fair!

Yes, taking over from Nancy Pelosi, not Howard Dean.

You do realize that Howard Dean ran for President in 2004, don’t you? Not this time around? This is a very silly thread.

No, she is Speaker of the House. The President doesn’t get that job.
Darn me for misunderstanding the NPR broadcast.

Yes, I do. And it is “Mundane and Pointless.” Let’s try and keep it that way, hmm?

But he doesn’t get the job of “Chairmain of the DNC”, either.

Yes, and the highest ranking Democrat in the country at this moment. Chairman of the DNC is way down the list.

Best to do an Emily Litella on this one, IMO.
