Obama Vs US flag lapel pin

I hear he also removes his birth certificate from the web site on odd-numbered Thursdays to give the conspiracy-theory nutbars something to spam about too.

Well, my sister sends me the damn things; sometimes i think she does it just to yank my chains.

It is a dumb thing, and it’s particularly sad to think that there are those who will think badly of someone for not wearing a flag. When did people start wearing flags anyway? The very concept is so bizarre.

Whoever starts these emails knows that they aren’t true. They’re trying to make Obama look bad. They’re implying that Obama is not a real American, that maybe he’s some sort of a librul or somethin, or who knows maybe even a librul muslim communist. Or, God forbid, he might even be French!

People who are too dumb too think for themselves will take the content of these emails as the truth without ever questioning it.

It is the same as the whole loyalty oath deal. Flagwaving has been popular since the whole McCarthy era communist scare.

Meh, as if saying a few words and signing a piece of paper would keep a dedicated spy/traitor from doing their thing.

5th generation (or is it 6th?) actual [part] Irishman

Well he did say he came here to claim his apostrophe back

Oh, flag waving has been popular long before that. The KKK was really big on flagwaving in the 1920s and there was quite a bit of it around the time that Wilson and WWI were promoting xenophobia. It probably goes back before that, but flags were more expensive and cameras were fewer.

If I were a spy I’d have no problem signing any loyalty oath or wearing any badge I was asked to.

Sure, a spy would say that he would sign a loyalty oath… but who can trust what a spy would say?

Well he signed that thar loyalty pledge diin’t he?
