Obamacare question about employer coverage

The state exchanges are only available (I think) to people who have insurance through their employer.

I have insurance through my husband’s employer. We pay a premium in order to maintain this coverage. Does that count as me having insurance through an employer, or not? I have seen conflicting info on this.

Thanks.

State exchanges are available to most anyone, whether you already have insurance (private or employer) or not.

Your situation DOES count as having employer coverage.

Thanks. And yes, you’re right; I saw that people with employer coverage are not eligible for subsidized exchange coverage and misread that to mean they weren’t eligible for the exchanges, period.

It’s also the best place finding links to state level health exchange web sites. I would avoid using a standard search engine to find these sites because scammers have already started with fake exchange sites. These scam sites attempt to mirror the look and feel of the real state-level exchange sites to suck you in and them collect personal data about you (names, DOBs, SSNs, etc.) they will later sell or exploit.
