Obama's aunt steps into the illegal immigrant debate

Are you trying to, like, Fight Diogenes with Diogenes, so to speak? Just declare a citation as bullshit and hand wave it away?

Are you trying to be meta and deeply ironic?

Cause you’re coming across as a dick, just so you know.

What the fuck is this badly written bullshit?

You’re getting the idea - congratulations.

Precisely. Nothing else seemed to get thru to the dolt in question, maybe this has some chance of doing so.

Shodan

Getting back on-topic, the granting of asylum status to Obama’s aunt is suspicious. Is there really any reason to believe she’d be persecuted back in Kenya? Is there any evidence at all that anyone in Kenya cares about her one way or the other?

It sounds like she’s pretty much the archetype of the welfare bum with an entitlement mentality. Add the fact that she isn’t even supposed to be in this country, and it’s not hard to see why people get a little pissed off about her.

It certainly isn’t. What does that have to do with Obama?

Most of the evidence in her asylum case is confidential, as it should be - and should have been. As I posted above, the judge ruled that the leak of the fact that she had applied for asylum was the very thing that endangered her, which was presumably not the leaker’s intent. Serves him (or her) right, as far as I’m concerned.

Frankly, I’m more concerned about the entitlement mentality of whoever decided that it was OK to leak confidential information in asylum proceedings.

It’s like some of the arguments I’ve seen here when the list of and information about people with Hispanic sounding names was leaked a few months back by someone who worked for a state agency – what’s the harm as long as it exposes people they believe are miscreants.

Even if there’s no evidence of an existing plot, the possibility of one of the President’s relatives being put into a hostage situation is something that should be avoided if possible.
