Obama's Endgame strategy: What will he do to maximize his chances of victory?

MHO, it’s not so much Ayres himself, but the image that Palin is trying to conjure — that Obama is “not like us.” From AP columnist Douglass Daniel:

(Obviously, emphasis mine.)

Well what he’s doing now is simply pointing out that McCain is going negative. Which is the way to do it.

I don’t see how thats in any way racist.

Well why isn’t Obama like the rest of us?

Some people might assume it’s because he’s a Democrat, but others will think it’s cause he’s black.

She didn’t say, “Obama is not like the rest of us,” and leave people to draw their own conclusions about what made him different. She characterized Obama’s alleged view of America, said that it was not the same as that of herself and her audience, and then went on to characterize her/their view. Her statement may be slimy pandering bullshit, but it is not racist, and to label it as such weakens the word and obscures the many legitimate complaints against this team of quasi-mavericks.

Oh, how I cannot wait until the word maverick is finally put out of its misery (bolding mine).

And setting up McCain for meltdown tomorrow (and to exploit it if it occurs) is this comment out of the Obama camp:

I AM NOT ANGRY!

Angry. Erratic. Frustrated. Whiney. Not suitable to lead. All these years and still not ready to lead.

There was an article in the Times over the weekend about the real Mavericks, the Texas family, still going, who decided not to brand their cattle. They are liberal to the point of being called Commies in the past, and they are really pissed at McCain misusing their name.

These folks?
