Obligatory Simpsons Reference

Over here, CLAYTON_e said:

“That episode will never be aired again. Homer’s car was booted right between the two towers.”

Am I mistaken in remembering that the episode aired this past week?

It depends on the syndicator. Fox just gave the syndicators a warning early on after the warning, but by now I believe it would be OK to show the episode.

Like my mom says, Homer doesn’t blow the World Trade Center up-he just uses the bathroom. It’s one of the few uses of the World Trade Center in a comedic role-and now, it’s a nice tribute, too.

IIRC, one of the syndie schedules had it set to air less than a week afterwards. That would have been too soon, but by now it is, as mobo said, a tribute.

Don’t forget to bring back my car back…

It’s one of my favorite episodes, I heard from a few ppl that they were never going to air it again, glad to hear some places are reconsidering it.

I would have said this in the other thread, but it was closed by the time I got to it. When I heard “Simpsons reference”, what immediately came to my mind was Chief Wiggum securing Ralph’s role as George Washington in the President’s Day pageant. “That’s the signal boys…Take the boot off the car!”
