Obtaining synthetic cannabinoids

you can obtain synthetic cannabinoids by the ton from helpful chemists located in China or import/export companies based in the Cayman Islands. or some guy on the internet. maybe your local smoke shop or gas station. friend at a party. dude on the corner with a plastic bag.

the problem is that they mostly involve fluorine compounds and benzene derivatives that have unknown toxicological profiles, and if they did, it would probably be “do not use for human or animal consumption”.

the difficulty is getting synthetic cannabinoids that aren’t made from coal tar and burnt-out fluorescent light tubes, where you know the rat isn’t going to die of cancer or get the rat version of schizophrenia before your study is finished.

you want those rats to live through the study so you can kill them and examine the precious contents of their skulls, which will not be modified in unknown ways by unknown chemicals.

kind of like not wanting to study the effects of adrenaline or dopamine by using crystal meth. though more is known about crystal meth than mass-market
synthetic cannabinoids.

because once anyone takes a serious look at what they are, they are put on the list of illegal chemicals. then you have to tweak a couple of molecules to make a new chemical sorta enough like the old one to satisfy the people who can’t afford actual marijuana.
