I wasn’t talking about you, dear…
So it was stupidity.
Regards,
Shodan
Keep screaming into the black abyss of the future, caveman. Your kind are losing their hold on the world, minute by minute. At some point, maybe in my lifetime, people are going to look back on the homophobic bullshit the way we look at Jim Crow. And the Republican Party will get to play the part of the Dixiecrats. Funny…most of those became Republicans after the Democrats told them to up sticks and get out.
You do realize, of course, that this is complete horseshit, right?
My terms were off, I admit after doing a little research to check up on your claim. I was conflating the 1940s Dixiecrats with the 1960s Southern Democrats who defected after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965 were passed.
They left or they changed. Robert Byrd changed, and repudiated his actions before. Strom Thurmond did not, and became a Republican.
Actually most of them just retired, quit politics or went back to local politics. They however remained Democrats as a general rule. The pro-business GOP’ers of Ashcroft, Gingrich, etc replaced them which is where the confusion comes in.
The fact remains, princess, that you simply talk out of your ass. And this persecution fantasy you have of republicans wanting to kill you is just that—fantasy. But far be it from reality to touch your oh-so-troubled mind.
Oh and as a personal aside, good on you for owning up to a mistake. Impressive and all too rare these days.
And Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl back in 1990. We know this to be true not only because Glenn Beck refuses to refute it, but also because he went off the air shortly after the story broke.
Quit making up scenarios. You make shit up and then think i should respond logically to your fantasies. I am sure there are just oodles of conservatives who are weeping uncontrollably in their suburban homes because they don’t feel comfortable walking in an occupied area that they never walk in anyway.
The aggression is instigated by the cops. Nobody seeks an opportunity to be maced and clubbed. I can assure you it is no fun. It is terrifying. People are there because they have political convictions and think the country is going astray.
You argue that people with political convictions ,who are peacefully demonstrating, should be hurt because they may be inconvenient to you. Good argument.

For doing their jobs?? In most of the cases where there have been clashes it’s because the cops have told people to leave an area (because they are blocking traffic, or they are trying to use public areas in ways where they don’t have permits to do so) and a certain number have refused. What, exactly, are the cops supposed to do in that situation? Just say ‘oh, well, I guess you don’t have too leave since you don’t want to. Sorry about that…carry on…’??
:dubious: I think you are hopelessly naive if you really believe this. Either that, or you’ve been to a hell of a lot less public protests than I have been…which would be pretty fucking ironic, if so. In every large protest I’ve been too there are a certain number of people who absolutely come to make trouble. They come prepared to make trouble, with stuff that will help them make trouble. They WANT confrontation with the police. Hell, they want to be maced and clubbed (on TV or recorded) because they think that helps make the public aware of how brutal the police are, and how worthy their cause is. If you don’t know this then all I can say is that I question how much you are actually participating in these things or have participated in protests in the past.
Not everyone is there for the same reason though, or has the same goals or agenda. Just because YOU think that’s the case doesn’t make it universally true. Granted, I think the majority of people at these protests are there for roughly the reasons you are saying here (though especially in this movement it’s all over the board), but not everyone is in lock step at ANY protest.

Whatsamatta you?
I have to say that I think calling a gay man “princess” is more than a little offensive.
While I don’t think JJ is accurate in his assessment of the hostility he thinks Republicans have for him, the fact is that violence again stays is real, as is the bullying. In sure he and his friends have knowledge of both firsthand, and I’m sure that it is the kind of thing that you take seriously and that sticks with you.
I think his reaction is disproportionate and aimed poorly, but Ido 't doubt the environmentand circumstances that spawned it.
It wouldn’t surprise me.
And this. Man, what is wrong with you?
Meh. No more than I expect from Shodan. And, to be fair, he may have been reacting to my sarcastic “dear”. Water, duck’s back. Haters gonna hate.
Sometimes its hard to tell one from another, isn’t it? Shodan’s the one with the annoying tag line.
Just in case our conservatives don’t know it, rubber bullets are dangerous .
Oh, really? What am I making up? and how about the people who live in the immediate vicinity? Don’t they have the right to enjoy peace and quiet in their neighborhoods generally?
They should be “hurt” because they are 1) breaking the law and/or 2) being a nuisance. And it’s perfect that a whiny liberal like you think that the world MUST STOP and address their concerns. You do realize that people have the right to demonstrate in the U.S., right? And that there are guidelines for doing so, right? You do know that protestors are supposed to get permits, right? Or is it okay to just throw the laws out the window when it’s your oh-so-important issue.? How about when it’s some other guy’s oh-so-important issue? Does he get to ignore the laws do whatever the fuck he and his group wants. Please, do tell.
You got me they’re! Death by the most evil means their is. Rightly deserved.
