I’m an adult student changing careers and planning to attend grad school in fall 2007. If I want to work in the field of OCD/OCPD with clients (and maybe do some research,) is a master’s in social work (eventually leading to an LCSW) or a PsyD more appropriate? (My undergrad work and so forth, btw, is a good match to go directly into a MSW program-- however, I honestly think I would need a master’s level degree in psych before really qualifying for a PsyD program. Nevertheless, understand that I am not afraid of spending the rest of my life in school…) All advice very much appreciated! 
For research PHd is the only way to go. If your simply going to practice therapy then the masters is sufficient.
