Well, it’s not really odd, but it was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I was up in the crater at Mt. Saint Helens a few years ago, an area which is usually restricted to scientists. I tagged along with my geologist friends from university on their field trip to the Cascades range, and we got a USGS-guided tour of the crater and the lava dome. I got to have lunch in the crater at Mt. Saint Helens, and I’m not even a geologist!
Of course, nobody thought that was cool at all until the mountain started acting up again this week. Now everyone looks at me with awe and envy!
I lost my rubber penis one day while playing in the river. I found it a few miles downstream, holding on for dear life to a tree branch overhanging the dam. It was petrefied, let me tell ya. Scared stiff.
I used to work at a vet’s office (I did the nasty grunt work), and therefore saw some pretty odd things. But my oddest experience was watching one of the head vets cut off a dog’s head. The dog had bitten a small boy and was put to sleep. The vet had to cut off the head in order to send it out for testing for rabies.
