Odd Riddle...is there an answer?

The Clinton’s all live in the same room, they all look the same. In order to get them around, they have a basket. How do you get them all in the basket?

Hint: The Father of Physics

Q. How do you get an elephant into a Safeway shopping bag?
A. You take the “S” out of “Safe,” and the “f” out of “way.”

You: There is no f in way! Me: That’s right!

Seriously, TheVioletCreep, I like riddles, and I tried to figure it out, but I just can’t get my head around what is being asked. I think for a riddle to be effective, there has to at least be the impression of a clear question being asked, even though it is almost always a misimpression, by design.

“In order to get them around, they have a basket.” I’m not sure what that means. Why do they need something to get them around? Are they round? It is true in my experience that those with baskets often get around, snerk.

Hmmm, Galileo. Centrifugal force? I got nothin’.

Oh. And there’s no apostrophe in Clintons.

This:

"Odd Riddle…is there an answer?"

Had me shaking in my boots!!!:eek::eek:

Don’t scare me like that!!!
Q

I’m with Quasimodem. I thought this thread was going to involve a raven and a writing-desk.

Hah, not at all, sorry for the confusion and ambiguity, and horrid apostrophe. Sent to me by a friend, I hadn’t the slightest how to approach it, I figured someone here could give me some sort of opening.

around is to mean, travel, transportation.
What is being asked, I’m guessing, is how they can all get into the basket? (fit perhaps?)

This riddle-giver is not at all being helpful in the least.

O.o

Are they humans, or some kind of animal?

I thought it was going to involve 14 k of g…

Since generally baskets as transportation involves going to hell, and the Clintons are named by name, I’m suspecting it’s a political joke. No clue, though. As it’s probably not flattering to the Clintons, maybe the Freepers would be a better resource.

I’m thinking humans…

though they all looks the same… could be an animal.

Once again, nothing is being relinquished! :open_mouth:

Yeesh… still harshing on the Clintons? Could anything be more passe?

Wait, wait! They are eggs! You don’t put all your eggs in one basket!

What in the name of god does that have to do with Galileo Galilei or Thanes?

(hint: father of physics)

Although…it does make sense…

You put them there, that’s how.

Seems too simple

Here’s an incomplete list of the various “fathers” physics has had.

The first name that came to my mind when I saw the clue was Isaac Newton, so I’ll guess that you newt 'em. You newt 'em into the basket. How else would you get such similar-looking people into a basket?

Define newt.

Well, when I type “define:newt” into Google, this is the first definition that comes up:

To me, this looks more like an etymology than a definition, but who am I to question Google?

So there’s your answer. It doesn’t really make any sense, but neither did the question.

‘Around’ could also mean anagram. I’ve tried running ‘Clintons’ through a program, but came up with nothing useful.

Why does a newt when it spins?

You don’t. Don’t put all your dregs in one basket. (Clinton bashing?)

Are you sure you copied the first line correctly, or are you just paraphrasing? Is the bad grammar part of the riddle?

Much, **much ** worse than that, Ben! It’s the reason I hate riddles in the first place, and I think that’s enough said. Anyone who knows me well, will tell you that’s true!:frowning:
