Did you ever have a dream where you watching (or actually in) one of your favourite TV shows, but it’s not any episode that was every really made? Maybe there’s something off about it, but you’re not sure what? Last I night dreamed I was watching that infamous episode of I Love Lucy were Lucy got pregnant again and her and Ethel had to come up with a zany scheme to come up with the money to pay for an abortion without Ricky finding out. I didn’t stike me that nothing like that would ever be aired in the '50s. After all they didn’t even use the work abortion. Unfortunaly all I remember of their scheme was that it ended with Lucy holding the money, and an unconcious man on the floor with Ethel searching is pockets for something. Lucy to Ethel to hurry up so they could get out of there because they only had enough money to pay for one murder (cue audience laughter).
Not as such, but last summer when I had just started having heart trouble, the doc had me messing around trying to find the best combination of drugs, and one set had me falling asleep any time I wasnt actually doing anything. I literally had trouble staying awake.
You know how some channels will run series all day, like NCIS or Law and Order. Episode after episode for 12 hours? I blend most of the season into one long episode now.
Now imagine getting up, taking a handful of pills. Eat breakfast, look at the tv and see an episode of law and order, drifting off to sleep for anywhere from 20 minutes to 90 minutes. Wake up, watch another 10 minutes of law and order before gently drifting back to sleep. Unfortunately, the type of sleep was without dreams, so i would literally feel like I had just closed my eyes to blink. I got to checking the clock and that is how I determined that I was not blinking but drifting off to sleep :smack: I swear there are entire weeks I don’t remember. I would drift for about 4 hours, then the meds would taper off and I could stay awake, until it was time for more meds after lunch. sigh
At least now the damned nap attacks only last 30-60 minutes and are right after my pills so I am mostly functional most of the day.
I just had one last week about Dr. Who. It was a pornographic eposide with David Tennant’s Doctor and Rose.
Something happened (I missed the first part of the episode in my dream) that caused Rose to somehow have a temporal rift inside her that was slowly building up energy. Eventually it would kill her and cause lots of problems and probably destroy the universe. The only way to safely release the energy and close the rift was for Rose to have an orgasm. The catch was that whoever gave her the orgasm would get hit with a backlash of temporal energy. The Doctor was the only one who could possibly survive this, so he had to do her to save the universe.
And it was the Doctor who figured this out, I presume? How convenient…
Sounds like it was directly inspired by "Parting of the Ways."Rose absorbs the energy of the time vortex, which temporally makes her all-powerful but also threatens to destroy her. The Doctor kisses her to make her all better, but has to regenerate as a result. But I think you should write out your version and pitch it to some independent film producers in the Valley. Be sure to involve the sonic screwdriver, and give it a name like “Doctor Hoo-hah.” Bonus points if you work Martha in there somehow.
I once dreamt of a Seinfeld reunion TV-movie where George and Elaine were having a secret affair that Jerry didn’t know about.
When I was a kid, I had a recurring dream about an episode of Gilligan’s Island where they had somehow found a small motorboat—not big enough to get home but big enough to putt around the other islands in the same chain as theirs, all of which were deserted or only inhabited by natives.
What a weird coincidence. One of the few black and white dreams I ever had was about being in an episode of I Love Lucy. About the only thing I remember about it though was it had an elaborate musical number.
Not quite the same thing but years before the live action Lord of the Rings I dreamt I was on Middle Earth. About all I remember from this dream is this apparently unending scene of horses and riders galloping someplace (maybe the planes of Rohan?).
I’ve dreamt that there was an entire “lost season” of Gilligan’s Island based on the early development concepts of the show, and that the actual G.I. was the second incarnation of the show.
Just this morning, actually. I dreamed I was watching the episode of Supernatural where demons take the guise of clowns and chase Dean through an old cabin. At one point they crowd into a doorway and only their heads stick out into the room while Dean scrambles for a weapon… I should have known it was a dream - I’m afraid of clowns, and there was no Sam so obviously it came from my brain not the show.
I once had a dream about the Brady Bunchin which the six kids were all attending my elementary school. The wacky dilemma of the week was that Jan had accidentally murdered somebody. I remember Jan standing in the alley between the teacher’s parking lot and the sixth grade classrooms that led to the playground and saying “Oh no! I’ve killed her!” and then the tic-tac-toe pattern of happy Brady faces filling up the “screen.” I even remember another bit from later on in the dream in which Jan is getting a scolding from her parents about murdering people and trying to cover up the crime. Jan ended up humbly apologizing to her murder victims’ brother. (“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to kill your sister.”)
And years before it actually happened, I had a dream that Doctor Who was brought back on the air. I even remember a vague idea of a story in which the Doctor had regenerated but with amnesia, so he spent decades (possibly hundreds of years) living as a homeless man in a post-apocalyptic wilderness, bereft of his TARDIS. The most clear memory I have had the newly regenerated Doctor screaming “Who am I?” (Man, did I flip when I saw the Fox TV movie and saw him do exactly that - I wanted to scream “YOU STOLE MY DREAM!”) Somehow the Rani and a Zygon were involved, but I don’t know how.
Well, I had another TV-related dream. This time I was watching a season 4 episode of Mad-Men on DVD. Don was holding a meeting regarding a campaign for an ocean liner company when Peggy complained that liners were dead and everybody flies on jets. Peggy also had on this huge hat with a veil. As she was saying that Cooper wandered through the room talking about how he missed flying on the Graf Zeppelin and the Hindenburg. He didn’t interact with anyone; Peggy mentioned the jet, he entered stage-left, walked across the room talking, and exited stage right. Also Don’s new office looked like a rustic cabin/treehouse and Matthew Weiner was explaining on the audio commentary how the look of office was meant to show us how the new agency was struggling.
In the movie North they played husband and wife.
I always thought it would be cool if there was an episode of Star Trek (TOS) where the crew went back in time to the early 1950s, or they somehow brought some people from MASH 4077 into the future. Would Hawkeye’s and Bones’ giant egos clash over the care of a patient? Would Potter and Kirk have a power struggle? Would Radar have a huge crush on Uhura?
One thing I’m sure of – Spock would no doubt think that Klinger was “highly illogical.”
Did she whine about how no one would have cared if Marsha killed somebody?
