Odds of Contracting HIV

I read the article in here on the odds of contracting hiv from heterosexual sex, it was not broken down on the high risk. If you are male and have vaginal and anal sex with only women and no homosexual behavior, what are your chances with and without a condom.

thanks

It’s an impossible question to answer with any certainty. Your risk is higher in, say Miami than Podunk, Iowa. Your risk is higher with anal sex than vaginal, and more with vaginal than oral. Your risk is drastically higher without a condom than with. There are four body fluids that carry a high enough viral load to transmit HIV. Blood, semen, breast milk, and vaginal secretions are the four. If you have bodily contact with any of these fluids, you run a risk of contracting HIV. Condoms aren’t perfect, but they’re a barrier between you and the virus.
Just about any sexual activity is more risky for the recipient than the giver. Her tissues are more likely to tear and create a port of entry than yours. Your comment about homosexual activity is irrelevant. If I recall correctly, and I could be completely wrong about this, my information is a year or so old, the fastest growing rate of new HIV infections worldwide is in heterosexual women.

Know your partner, know their sexual history, and history of drug/needle use. Give your partner the same respect, and be open and honest with your own history. Use condoms every single time, that’s all anyone can tell you.
