So, I was working in the yard one Saturday afternoon. I had a few beers.

Over dinner a few more beers and received advice about an airfare sale.

Now, we had sworn there would be no holiday this year- new house. However, after looking at the airfares the deals were too good to pass up.

So, I booked two airfares to Russia. In winter.

Also Lapland- we’ll get to meet Santa I guess. And the zoo has a kangaroo.

Also various other very cold places.

Of course Russia is unlikely to annoy Ukraine or anything like that are they?

Go. Why would you let local political concerns have any sway in your plans for an exotic vacation? Those things have no effect on travelers, and if they are serious enough that they do, you won’t be allowed in the country or region in the first place. Tourists can’t just wander around in a war zone.

Why would a traveler not go to Albuquerque in 1968 during the Detroit riots? Why would one not go to Engliand or Argentina during the Falkland Islands war?

Literally, nothing can go wrong. Go.

Not really. It just struck me as odd that they have a kangaroo. I hope it has a well heated cage.
