Offbeat things you really want

To ride (ok, be led around) on a Lippizaner and a Friesian.
To ride an Icelandic pony at its special gait.
To wander around all the hidden rooms and staircases in an English country house.

Zsofia, here’s a life-size giraffe garden statue. It’s on sale.

I’d like to be an Internationally-recognized, superb photographer who is based in New Zealand and gets to try all the major manufacturers’ new kit for free.

Unfortunately Trey Ratcliff beat me too it.

I’d like to visit a castle.

I’d like to own a pinball machine. However the ones I want cost more than I can afford.

I want a good, non-ex-library, hardcover copy of Clavell’s Shogun. The paperback runs in excess of 1200 pages and the three paperback editions I’ve owned all fall apart under their own weight.

Go for it! I used to have one, and it was a blast. I can’t imagine a safer way to fly. With a light breeze you can launch with hardly any steps at all. I used to carry my whole rig in the back of my Honda hatchback.

Very doable. Just check MXBookfinder.com and look for decent hardcover versions. I got a first edition that way for a good price…

Thanks, WordMan! I’ll check MXBookfinder out. I usually buy off Amazon but there was no hardback there worth buying.

A first edition of Shogun? I envy you!

Most London museums are free entry, with charges only for special exhibitions. Smaller private museums may charge a fee, but as far as expenses in London goes, museums are not what will eat your money!

I’d like to pet and play with a baby tiger cub for about five minutes.

I want one of every instrument in a standard concert orchestra, and one hour-long lesson on the basics of each.

I’ve got a '95 Cierra if you’re interested.
