Office 2003

I have heard that Microsoft Office 2003 cannot be used with Windows 98. Is this true? If it is true, is there a way to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

ps lousy bill…

According to Microsoft’s product info, you must have Win 2000, SP 3, or Win XP to run Office 2003. Offhand, I’d guess there’s absolutely no way around that limitation (Microsoft wants to sell as many copies of Office 2003 as they can, so they wouldn’t limit their potential market if they didn’t have to).

Microsoft is discontinuing all support for Win98 next year.

Its architecture is very different from NT, Win2k and XP. So you can be sure if Office 2003 won’t work even with NT, it has absolutely zero chance of working on 98.

Nope, no way around it. The system is programmed to work on a specific instruction set, which requires a fully 32 bit environment.

In addition to Early Out’s comments, official support for Windows 98 will end about the time Office 2003 debuts.
