Office e-mail at its best

Thought we might share with each other some of the tremendously vital workplace communication we receive via e-mail. I ask only that people post actual e-mails that they received during the course of their work. Or school. Or whatever the hell else you think might give us a giggle.

I just received an e-mail from our office’s administrative officer, addressed to all employees. She had apparently received it from the regional administrative office, who in turn, had received it from national HQ.

It was captioned:

FW: Today’s News

In its entirety, the message forwarded to thousands of people nationwide read:

There is no significant news to report today.

At least it wasn’t accompanied by an urgent !.

Yesterday my boss emailed HR to find out what our policy was regarding paying for jury duty absence. Here’s what the reply was:

[Scoutboss]: Congratulations! Glad to see you have seen selected to due your civic duty for our community. You also are representing [ScoutCo’s] Core Value of citizenship. Thank you. [ScoutCo] will provide up to 10 days of pay. Good luck, [HRGal]

Oh, brother.
