Has the ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) ever been known as the NIA (Naval Intelligence Agency)? If not the ONI, has there ever been a U.S. Navy intelligence agency known as NIA?

The Office of Naval Intelligence has been called that since the late 19th century. In fact, I think it’s the oldest dedicated intelligence office in the country.
On second look, the wikipedia article you linked in the OP appears to confirm what I just said.
