Officer Rivieri Builds Bridges Among Baltimore's Youth (R.O.)

Repeated? It didn’t even need to be said once. How many times do you need to be informed that the police officer tackled the kid before he used the D-word? Or that when the cop approached them, the kid had the board under his arm?

Middle ground? Ah yes, the middle ground:

Niiiiiice. Middle ground, you’re looking for a middle ground? Read my posts.

No, you don’t get to pick out the most extreme opposite reaction in order to justify your own bullshit, I’m afraid. And for that matter, I do support this man being removed from his position of responsibility (not enough to start an email campaign - that’s just silly), but that’s not an extreme position IMO. You’ve conveniently ignored George Kaplin’s example of how Rivieri might have more maturely dealt with the situation; presumably because you know he has a point.

Face it; this cop had no sense of self-control, no sense of perspective and in the end, no professionalism. For all your bullshit about respect, the fact is that we actually expect better behaviour from our cops than our teenagers. The fact that the video shows exclusively teenaged behaviour reflects badly on just one man: Officer Rivieri. None of your “won’t someone think of the children” bullshit about maimed toddlers will change that, nor will it change the fact that Officer Rivieri had a vast range of options in front of him, many of them sane, all of which he spurned in favour of having a hissy fit worthy of a two-year-old who’s dropped his ice cream. If you’re fine with that, well, bully for you. I expect a bit more from my guardians of the peace, and if that makes me a cuddlywuddly skateboard-murderer-loving peacenik in your mind, then I’m quite happy with that. Dude.

It’s not the most extreme reaction, dude. It’s the fucking OP, dumbass.

It’s a clearly marked RO thread and I’m not getting the RO.

Kthxbye!

Actually, while the OP might have marked it RO, i personally think that concern about the abuse of authority by the police is not RO; it’s something that everyone should be concerned about. The fact that you don’t get it reflects badly on you—either on your intelligence, or on your morals; perhaps both.

What are you? 14?

Dude, like whatever. I wasn’t doing anything. I don’t have a father.

Dude, like totally, do you want your skateboard taken away?

I’ll trade you for the bee suit.

At least the mods won’t put him in a headlock and throw him to the ground when he’s co-operating.

::looks up::

Oh, you’re new here.

We’re four pages since the OP, you, like, Nazi. Like, move the fuck on, dude.

Honestly, though, this is some lazy shit you’re showing here. Justify your own arguments; don’t point at others you think are being equally stupid. Although, come to think of it that’s pretty much precisely how you’re justifying Officer Rivieri behaving like a child, so I shouldn’t be surprised.

Justify my arguments? I think I have, and I’m sick of justifying them and having asswads continually coming in and say "I think Officer Rivieri should be sent to prison and ass-raped to death forevers!!!11! 'cause like I was a dick once and this one cop one time was a dick to me, and like death to all cops!

Which I said … where? Really, I’m embarrassed for you. If this lame shit is all you’ve got, I suggest you go pick on some teenagers for having long hair or something.

Yeah, well. I think you should come over to my house and snuggle with me.

Only if I can be the outside spoon.

Don’t do it! He’s got Uri Geller in the closet waiting to bend you!

Because what? Because they won’t let nutters with hard-ons for street justice like you on the force? Didn’t you say you were a wannabe who couldn’t pass the tests?

Why are you equivocating me with Eric Bush? Is it time to go to the hospital and get a check-up on the ol’ gulliver? You know I live 3,000 miles away, don’t you? It’s in my location bar.

Answer me this, though: if Officer Rivieri’s time is so valuable, why does he spend it beating up kids instead of catching real criminals? You just told me that skateboarding in public isn’t a “real crime”, yet you advocate violent punishment for it without a trial? You’re an odd one, aren’t you?

Give levdrakon a break–he hasn’t yet mastered the skill of watching a video on the Internet. Hey levvy, you know they have free classes for that kind of stuff, right?

Who said that? The abuse-by-cop thing is a product of your own apparently fertile imagination (if only your logic skills were so sharp!); are you projecting?

Ah, my poor petulant attention seeking child, I’m going to go all mature on you and let that go. G’night though.

Funny how most of us are trying to find a rational solution, yet you, despite your abundant maturity, insist that police officers should use violence on children who are being cooperative.

Yes, I know this is a 5 year old zombie thread by a now-banned poster, but…

I just found another video of the very same cop in the very same place being an asshole to another guy. It’s a much shorter video, but Jeebus that guy has a temper. It was also filmed the year before the skateboard incident – the guy who filmed it saw the skateboard story on the news and spoke up about his earlier encounter.
