Oglaf appreciation thread - very NSFW - hilarious pornographic webcomic

That is a good question. But there may be an answer. Who knows, maybe this is a random citizen who wants to have some good times and has a “slut” now to do the job. But my money is still on the Lady Thief since Someone has been up to a lot o’ killin’ according to the town elders.

I hope the Ice Queen doesn’t get jealous.

The Ice Queen has the hots* for the lesbian warrior, not the lady thief.

[sub]*Ha! See what I did there?[/sub]

The Ice Queen (or more usually, Snow Queen) has a thing for Greir the Mercenary Girl, not Bandit Girl. So that should be cool. (Ha ha, “cool”, geddit?)

(The character I think of as “Mercenary Girl”, the one with the straight hair in two braids and somewhat less buxomicity than Bandit Girl, is also called “Warrior Woman” around here, but Randy Seltzer said upthread that the artist named her “Greir”.)

[ETA: Wow Miller, jinx on the ID clarification and even on the bad Snow Queen pun!]

Actually, she’s not sitting on anybody’s lap in that frame. She’s straddling the shoulders of the kneeling partygoer who’s giving her oral.

That’s the one I’ve been meaning from the begining. I’d forgotten about the character in the “We Fear Bees” strip.

Same here. Completely different eyes from the lute-murderer ;).

ETA: Compare the last panel of the third page of the current comic, to any shot of the “mercenary girl”, like in ravine. The eyebrows in particular are dead on.

That would make sense. From what we’ve heard about the city’s enchantment, there’s a good chance Grier still technically qualifies as a virgin, despite the fact that she probably gets more pussy than any other character in the strip. That fact alone seems likely to drive her into a murderous rage.

Of course, the chances of the apprentice suddenly being unable to see the city are increasingly remote, if that’s who it turns out to be.

You’re right, and the naked male figure fondling her breast from behind is actually standing pressed up against her back and butt.

And although we can’t actually see what his orgy tool is doing in that posture, I know what I still think it’s doing.

If the Mistress does turn out to be able to see Magic City in a future strip, of course, then there goes that theory. In the meantime, I’m sticking with the hypothesis that no part of the Mistress’s body retains any trace of virginity of any kind.

Judging from the arms and legs, the mysterious stranger may be “Twitchy” from This strip.

We don’t actually know the wandering swordswoman’s tastes, actually. Her motive in all her appearances thus far have all been cash, not fun, and the Ice Queen seemed like a a means to that end.

Being genre-savvy doesn’t necessarily make you gay. Though there does appear to be some statistical correlation.

We also don’t really know how the invisible city works. Blowjobs having a specific exception would be much funnier than only penetrative sex counting.

Apprentice’s ‘cunning’ face when questioning the shopkeeper is absolutely hilarious.

I’m betting not. I think “Twitchy” bought the farm when she fell off the castle wall, and the “dust angel” was from her post-mortem convulsions.

Maybe the mysterious stranger is another of the would-be assassins? There seem to be quite a pack of them roaming around, and you can’t say that the Mistress doesn’t deserve them.

True. Except that in “Reward”, when she was sarcastically describing the “type” she was after, she did specify a “hot woman” (albeit one with a bag of gold for a head). Could’ve been just a random zinger, or could’ve been an actual statement of preference.

I think that Greir/Mercenary Girl/Warrior Woman/Wandering Swordswoman needs to end up confronting Bandit Girl/We Fear Bees Thief someday. Don’t particularly care what happens or whether or not they’d get it on, but that would make an interesting encounter just on a person-to-person basis.

Likewise. Although I’m a little more emphatic about the “getting it on” part.

Which minor characters have appeared more than once? Besides Bandit Girl and Warrior Woman, there’s the Snow Queen, Kronar the barbarian, the king and wizard featured most recently in “Kronar takes a toll”, the race of shapeshifters, there were the dwarves (unless they’re dead after “Cavalcade of Wonders”). There was a knight-errant in “Shield Maiden” and “Giant Cockbats” (not to be confused with “Ulric the Just”). The king in “A Very Deep Chasm” and “Labyrinth” look the same. The “Ponce de Leon” character seems to have dead-ended. Oh, and of course there was Oglaf himself  There have been enough generic maidens that some of them may or may not be the same, I can’t be sure.

Are we counting Sandoval the Xoan Ambassador as a major character?

The Lizard of Guilt seems to be reappearing in ghost form now and then.

Great Og you people are into this just a little too much (he says in an envious, not critical way)! I can’t keep up. I think I have to go back to the beginning and start again. Increasingly, I can’t figure out what the hell is going on, and have to come here to be reminded of the backstory.

Perhaps it’s just sour grapes but I get the feeling this whole strip is becoming far too much of an “in” joke. You can’t make head nor tail unless you know and have memorised all the back catalogue

Well, in fact, AFAICT, the only thing really resembling an actual plot in Oglaf is the current storyline about the Mistress’s Monster Pet, and the apprentice’s hapless accidental destruction of it and attempt to replace it, that got launched a few weeks ago.

Pretty much everything else in the strip is fairly self-explanatory with the following basic background information:

  • Horny young virgin apprentice serves narcissistic nymphomaniac psychopathic red-headed (natch) sorceress Mistress in a court setting of decadence, dark magic, despotism and frequent death, but is forbidden sexual gratification and is consequently extremely frustrated.

  • Polymorphously perverse poisoner and sadist Sandoval, the Xoan Ambassador to Mistress’s court, has a thing for the apprentice who finds his attentions unwelcome.

  • Elsewhere, a female mercenary and a macho gay warrior named Kronar periodically and severally show up seeking paying gigs and/or occasions of manly domination.

  • All of which, along with other random episodes involving other random people, takes place in a vaguely defined medieval/fantasy setting abounding in both magical phenomena and sexual encounters.

I’m lumping everyone in the Mistress & Apprentice stories into one category.

Checking through the archives; possibly “Magic Fish” and “Salty Tales” are set in the same seaside tavern, although no recurrent characters were spotted.

There’s a minor plot earlier, starting with the first few strips, where Ivan gets his semen enchanted so it reports to Mistress that he’s been wanking, and resolves later, when he gets kidnapped for ransom and forces Mistress to pay it by continuously jacking off until she gets sick of the facials. Other than that, it’s been completely episodic.

Add “Pork Chisel” to Knight-Errant’s appearances.
