Mistress’s guards seem to be pretty competent, over all. And shooting someone in the middle of their chest isn’t an especially difficult shot. Plus, they shot a lot of arrows at the vampires.
While Ivan is a technical virgin, he’s generally surrounded by over-the-top sexual displays, which he must resist if he doesn’t want to be executed. I’d expect that this has made him somewhat less susceptible to the Felicia potion than your average Virginopolis inhabitant, who tend to be comically naive about anything sexual.
If the Virginopolis guards had looked up during the first frame of that last strip they would have got a lesson in anatomy real quick. They probably would have fainted.

We discussed this somewhere, but in addition to the “regular” mouseover text is some text that ordinarily you never see unless your browser is so slow that images don’t load for several seconds. These will then display when you mouseover the “image goes here” icon.
“VV” for Virgin Vampire? Then maybe her name’s Vivian (VV-ian).
It’s not coincidence, of course, that this happens just after we meet a hot female vampire who’s starting to develop some feelings for Ivan. Connect the dots.
So, is Ivan dead? I didn’t see a wound when that arrow disappeared.
The ghost guilt-lizard would be really screwed now, given NOBODY else pays attention…
