Oglaf appreciation thread - very NSFW - hilarious pornographic webcomic

I’m the opposite. I thought the punchline was too obvious. Just the monster, staring at the room with a confused expression would have been better for me.

I thought those were supposed to be Yetis, given the winter theme.

I thought it was pretty weak, but they can’t all be gems.

Fair enough. It also sort of reminds me of an alot.

As to this strip generally–I liked it. I think I’m just happy to have a break from Ivan for a while.

alt=“Monster delivers pizza, doesn’t get tip.”

What with “Muse” and “Scheherazade”, I think the author was hinting that she was feeling a little pressured.

The new panel is up.

More monster fun…

That is one hilariously *ed-up magical world.

And the alt text and mouseover titles are:

alt = Weeping maples, weeping willows, a few onions
title = We won the beautiful baby contest when my giant child ate the other entrants

It makes a disturbing amount of sense, though.

New panel is up.

Reminds me of a punchline without the joke: “Where is that Eskimo woman you want me to kill?”

So - how did the hero figure it out? I could see figuring generally dangerous thing - but he put it right in the net.

Still liked it - just curious.

Probably the same way people usually figure out scams, they’ve seen or heard of them before.

You can only pull off the same “queen of spring” scam for so long until word eventually gets around.

I for one wouldn’t want to have to figure out what isn’t possible in a magical world.

Rules of Magical Worlds

1/ In a magical world, anything is possible.

2/ Not everything is possible, even in a magical world.

3/ In the event of a conflict between 1/ and 2/, the needs of the story prevail.

The needs of the story require here that the Hero does something clever. Just knowing the trick by magic would not be clever. Therefore rule 2/ prevails: he did it by cleverness.

Although I guess in a snowy wilderness figuring out that something that lives in a cave over winter and eats people may be a bear might not be that clever.

A bear cave also has a distinctive smell, and is very different than the bedroom of even a very randy queen.
(Or so I’ve been told.)

There’s lots of footprints leading into the cave, but none leading out.

Yeah, but the shill admits up front it’s dangerous (which of course will only thrill the standard hero, leading to likely bear food). But ‘bear’ was an inspired guess - why not troll, dragon, whatever in the hell that shapeshifting thing is - lots of choices in the Oglaf world.

Maybe the hero knew that a bear shits in the… oh, never mind.

And I loved the strip with the monster showing up in the mead hall only to find everyone already dead.

New strip up. The hero in this strip doesn’t look like the one in last week’s; so we have two genre-savvy heroes?
