I hope the VH1 execs keep tight control over this program. I mean, it’s rare for a talk show to be actively dangerous, but McCarthy’s antivax nonsense actually kills infants. She has every right to speak as she wishes on her own time, but I’d hope the VH1 folks would know better than to give her a soap-box.

I have zero interest in this show but if VH1 is looking for their own Chelsea Handler, they sure as hell won’t get it by letting anyone, McCarthy or otherwise, pontificate on the virtues or evils of childhood vaccinations. That’s daytime Oprah style stuff, not late night talk. I assume she’ll be doing the usual opening monologues, perhaps some skits and the standard light celebrity interviews.

Well, we know that 10 kids died in California in 2010 because they hadn’t been vaccinated (http://vitals.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/24/10226948-calif-cuts-whooping-cough-deaths-to-zero), and we know that McCarthy’s antivax campaign is one of the most prominent factors discouraging people from getting their kids vaccinated. It seems very likely that McCarthy has the blood of children on her hands, but we can’t entirely prove it.

My understanding is the children who died were too young to have received the whooping cough vaccine, and were exposed to the disease through contact with contagious people. The number of cases of whooping cough in CA at that time were suspected to be related to the loss of herd immunity due to the low rates of vaccination, which CAN be related to Jenny’s “vaccines are poison!” statements.
Giving this vapid waste of space her own show is simply giving her a more public stage on which to prattle her non-scientific woo.
Omigosh, as a talk-show host, she has killed almost as many people as Merv Griffin!

I remember Jenny always being incredibly hot…but not smart or funny. How do they think this will be a good show?
