So many others…

I am proud to be a Canadian athlete today (well a lot of days actually!)

Ahem! Don’t forget Pamela Anderson. :stuck_out_tongue:

What did she compete in again? The boob olympics?
I think you were looking for this thread!

And it’s a good thing you have such a wonderful sports history, Cyrin, because because it only barely makes up for releasing Celine Dion on the world.

For the last time… I’m sorry, we all are… it’ll never happen again…

As a token gesture, we will smite Avril Lavigne at our nearest opportunity…

Well, to be quite honest, Jacques Villeneuve hasn’t been able to show off his skills properly since he became the F1 world champion in 1997, with Williams. Oh, he’s quite the character off the track (just ask Jenson Button how he feels :D), but in that BAR, it’s just not been the same on the tarmac.

I hope he can move to a team like McLaren or, the ultimate dream, Ferrari. C’mon, who doesn’t want to see Villeneuve jr. in a Ferrari, sporting number 27? Wouldn’t that be cool??

Jacques is still one of my favourite drivers, let’s hope he gets another chance to shine before he gets too old, and has to return to North America to win the CART championships 3 times in a row.

Yeah yeah, then why do you have tickets to her new show in Vegas, Gorgon

And in honour to his father, this quote:

Considering the source, that’s very telling. You catch a glimpse of it in Jacques’ driving every now and then, but we’d get so much more of it if he could do it in a Maranello car. So c’mon, mr Di Montezemelo. Schumacher, fantastic as he is, has won the title for you three times now. It’s obvious he would never tolerate a driver like Villeneuve as a teammate: he wants a nice little sheep like Barrichello (talented as he may be, he’s no fighter that can take on Schumacher). So I propose a swap: let Schumacher dominate Jenson Button next season, and let Jacques shine in a Ferrari.

You also missed that Weir is a lefty, I’m guessing it’s some hope for all you strange and weird lefties out there.

I would just like to say a few words in defense of the Canadian Music Scene.

Rush.
Barenaked Ladies.
The Guess Who.
Neil Young
Sarah Mclachlan
Jann Arden
Amanda Marshall
The Tragically Hip.

I could go on for days, people. DAYS. One Celine Dion is more than fair for the Christina Aguileras and NSync the US gave us.

Tiger could have used a left handed club on Sunday… did anyone else see the upside-down wedge from the wood-chips through the trees and onto the fairway??? Amazing!

Ya, Weir is the first Lefty to win a major, pretty amazing day for him… so many groups of people happy for him… maybe we can rally around this guy, forget our differences (Weir lives in the states and married an American) and Americans will start serving us gas again…

You can prove nothing! Nothing!!!

I figured you Canucks might appreciate this

Though Last Saskatchewan Pirate is my favorite…

Frickin’ Canadians. Just cause their cities are clean, they have a decent health care system, and no one shoots each other, they think they’re better than we are.

Please someone adopt me and lemme live there

GMRyujin, you bring all your cool gaming/computer stuff and you got a deal!

GMRyujin if you really like Arrogant Worms check out Captain Tractor… similar style music and a local band (for me :stuck_out_tongue: ) My roomie went to high school with most of them and at the last concert just before St Patty’s Day I was having a flirting good time with Brock

Oh they also do a version of The Last Saskatchewan Pirate… personally I like their’s better… but Carrot Juice is Murder is pure gold…

Canada also brought us the “Kids in the Hall”.
Don’t know if they’re kids anymore.

nitpick

it’s actually Mike’s sixth PGA Tour victory

/nitpcik

The only thing I’d change about the Masters yesterday is have Mike hole that par put on the extra hole…he still beat him fair and square I guess, a par would’ve been nice. He knew he had two puts to win though, maybe he just wanted to get the ball close and didn’t want to risk anything because he knew the putt slopes downhill after the hole.

It was a fantastic day nevertheless, as the Masters has been my favorite golf tournament since I started watching it at 9 years old. It was great to see a Canadian AND a fellow leftie win.

Mick gets it next year.

Kids in the Hall’s opening credits has shots of my hometown!

Last week I had Swiss Chalet and in the booth next to us was Scott Thompsons parents! That was pretty cool, especially when someone in your party recognizes them and has a chat…

So much easier to play “Six Degrees of Separation” in Canada! Tons of really talented people and one tenth the population of the USA!

I had 2 classes in High School with Jason Spezza

I grew up with Shawn Ashmore, his parents still live ‘kitty corner’ from my best friends house… my Frisbee is at the bottom of their pool… too cold to get it yet… stupid Canada… wait, I mean, CANADA ROCKS!… whoops!

I agree. Phil deserves it. Well a Major victory of some sort, but I’m sure he’d like a green jacket!

After that though, three straight jackets for Tiger… I really like watching people break crazy records like that… maybe his third could be the start of a ‘true’ grand slam season too!

You mean the computer, the home network, XBox, PS/2, and GF? I think it could be arranged. I think one of my favorite developers (Strategy First) is based out of Canada too. Bonus!
