Oh, fuck. I have to do my taxes, don't I?

One of these days, I’m going to learn to stop procrastinating.

But first, I’m going to play a few hours of Ms. Pac-Man on MAME.

Hey, you don’t have to panic for another two weeks. It’s still good.

I e-filed on 2/13 and didn’t get my refund from the fucking state until last Friday. They apparently aren’t rushing, so why should you?

This year its really hard to put in the effort.

From the government handing out money to corporations so they can pay outrageous bonuses to the assholes that ruined the economy to the politicians who “forgot” to pay their taxes there’s very little incentive for me to figure out how much “more” money I’m supposed to send to those chuckleheads.

Because we lost so much money in the stock market last year, we actually got back $2k this year. :stuck_out_tongue: :frowning:

Oddly enough, when I sat down to do our taxes last week, I got distracted by MAME Berzerk. I wonder if I can put Evil Otto as a dependent?

You should follow it up by playing Sinistar.

The new tax rates are in place so take home pay has gone up! Where is all this stimulus money coming from?

Ms. Pac-Man? I wonder if the taxes the OP is talking about finally getting around to doing are for 1982. :stuck_out_tongue:

You can go look at the penalty tables for not filing - that should create an incentive…

Its a pain, but if you owe and don’t file, the IRS will stick you with fines that remind you never to procrastinate again.

::gloating:: Mine have been done since Feb.

I figure I’ll start mine next week. I always end up owing the government more money, so I’m in no hurry.

Same here; I figure I’ll start mine this weekend (adding up the various tax amounts, etc).

I must do them before the week of the 15th though; I have a big event for over 300 for which I’m working on planning and manning the front door that night, so I can’t wait until the 14th like I ususally do.

China

The Future!

Don’t worry, there will be more people then, or something.

Refunds this year, for a change. Both mine were done in January.

And that’s the difference. Refunds should be filed the moment one gets the W-2; writing a check should be filed on April 15th.

I find doing my taxes to be the easy part. It’s writing the check to send along with it that’s painful. So I just don’t send the check anymore and I get back these lovely letters saying that I must’ve forgotten to the send the money… man, do they have me pegged wrong.

Pfft. I did mine last year.

Only the little people pay taxes…

I guess I’d better get on with mine, huh?

I’ll have mine ready tomorrow. I promise. I know you (USA) really need the money.

I always get sick about this time of the year. I don’t know why.
