Oh goody. Terr becoming more like Hitler

I remember - when you heard Hitler in the 30s-40s (those that were around to do so) you had to hear all these over the top comparisons, and were barred from ever pointing out the loaded language fallacy. How nice to see Terr moving in that same direction.

Godwinized your own thread, and in the very title itself.

:golf clap:

Well, he’s got a ways to go yet.

Hitler had charisma.

You don’t understand. He came here from the USSR. I think. Has he ever mentioned it? I think maybe once, albeit obliquely. Nonetheless, I’m pretty certain he did, which is very important because you don’t understand, he came here from the USSR. Did I mention that yet? It really makes all the difference, particularly because it explains everything. That is, it explains everything once you realize he’s originally from the USSR, something he’d probably only mention if you asked him directly, so I think I’ll tell you now.

Also, every Soviet citizen’s experience was exactly the same and they would all agree with him. He has this insight because he originally comes from the USSR (or so I heard once).
ETA: Shoot, I should really preview before hitting ‘submit’. I forgot to mention that I think he’s from the USSR, so his understanding of government should be accepted. He doesn’t like to tell you that himself. That is, that he’s from the USSR.

ETA2: Oops, I forgot to mention that he came from the USSR. I just clicked the OP link, and saw that he did in fact mention it. I just wanted to remind you. That he comes from the USSR.

Did she always used to be this way? It feels to me that over the past two weeks or so she’s caught my attention with her pure bullshit. Or was I just fortunate enough to have missed all her bullshit from earlier in the year?

On the way the paper bag was on my knee
Man, I had a dreadful flight.

You know who else was like Hitler?
… I’m doing this wrong, aren’t I?

Godwin?

Don’t worry. Reigns of Terr tend to end badly for their protagonists.

Wait, Terr is female and from the former soviet union?
… Nah. Still too coherent to be Orly Taiz.

Since I was the only participant when this thread was still in its title phase does that mean I both won and lost?

You know who else who was famous and lived in Germany in 1933 had a problem like this don’t you?

Schrödinger

I just have one question - Where is Terr from originally?

(Sorry if this was already answered but I was standing in the bread line early this morning and missed part of the thread.)

Until I clicked on the spoiler box, he was both in there and not in there at the same time!

Intriguingly, support for your premise can be found in this discussion of party politics and the debt ceiling:
The right thing to do is not to dicker around with the system as it is, since it is hopelessly screwed up. We’re way past the inflection point. The right thing to do is to abolish the system and rebuild it right from scratch. The only way to do that (if we’re very lucky and things fall right) is after a full collapse of the current system. Thus the worse it is, the better it is. Maybe.

Of course, the collapse may result in something much worse than it is now. But then doing nothing will probably get us to the same point, just a bit slower.
Desiring to see the current government collapse into anarchy from which one’s own side can emerge the strongest – and using economic hard times to trigger this collapse, although your goal is not per se economic – is a pretty close approximation of Hitler’s position while trying to overthrow the Weimar Republic.

I admire her pro-Zombocalypse stance.

My parents escaped to the west from Communist Hungary in the 1950s. They are very anti-Communist. Yet they totally disagree with Terr on just about every point. So it isn’t just that.

I think maybe Terr is a left over mole. You know, the ones they planted here decades ago? Difference is, they don’t want him back.

You forgot “looks forward to the collapse of society and its rebirth on the principles of the Ubermensch.” Which reminds me of another female from the soviet union.

Surely Ms. Rand is dead, no?
