Oh, Hell No: (Darfur Trailer)

It is truly tragic what has happened in Darfur. I’m sure a great movie can be made about the genocide without exploiting it. However, call it a hunch, but I’m fairly certain that this is not that film. First off, it stars Billy freaking Zane,- that’s never a good sign. Second, they can’t even spell “existence” right in the trailer. Third, it seems like it may be leaning in the low rent action movie direction, - think Hotel Rwanda II, starring Jean Claude Van Dam. Lastly and most important, it’s directed by…

wait for it…

Uwe Boll. Oh, HELL no. Did somebody make a Darfur game for the X-Box when I wasn’t Looking? Uwe Boll. Haven’t the people of the Sudan suffered enough?

…Is Boll planning to extort people into paying him not to make movies? Because this is the only way that makes sense.

Listen to your friend Billy Zane, he’s a cool dude.

Wait.

What video game is this?

On the plus side, the genocide will now be only the second worst thing to come out of the War in Darfur.

Is that trailer real?

If so, it’s a HORRIBLE trailer.

I might be blind or illiterate (very possible, both), but it looks to me as if they spelled “existence” right. At least.

So who keeps giving this bozo money?

I got Uwe Boll confused with Manute Bol.

Huh, it is spelled correctly in the YouTube link, but I first ran across the trailer here where it’s spelled existance. It’s also misspelled here, but I guess he fixed it before it went to YouTube.

I love how it’s set in “Sudan, Africa.” For some reason I keep picturing a film opening with a shot of the White House or the Pentagon and a little subtitle popping up which reads “The United States, North America.”
