I’m on a constant prowl for new music. I recently (re-)made a search in SDMB for threads where people recommend obscure or non-mainstream bands. (How I love those threads. Definitely a repeating thread there should be more of.) Then I searched for them using Kazaa. And often, I couldn’t find anything, or just one song, which promptly decides to be ‘Remotely Queued’.
Oh Audiogalaxy! The fountain of obscure music! Even in it’s butchered state some months before it went the way of the dinosaurs, it still was superior to Kazaa or WinMX of today and yes, even to Napster. I loved Audiogalaxy’s interface, I loved it’s large selection, I loved the ease of finding music and downloads which at least seemed almost guaranteed, not remotely queued.
Sigh. Audiogalaxy will always live in our hearts.
