While watching tonights news there was a story about a woman who was a major traffic enforcer. She preached about traffic awareness and other things.
She died, she got hit by a bus.

Maryland’s governor recently was going to hold a press conference on the drought the state is experiencing. It got rained out.

Yep - the U.K. government once appointed a Minister for Drougth, who very quickly became the Minister for Flood and Rainy stuff.
Irony? You want Irony?
Our old territorial capitol building was preserved as a national historic site, and undergoing renovation. Of course they couldn’t leave well enough alone and the contractors used cutting torches in the course of their asbestos removal, and it caught on fire, destroying the dome and causing millions and millions of dollars damage. Stupid bastards.
Life is full of irony. The bus killing incident is a real killer.

That would be Susie Stephens. Not a traffic enforcer, but one of the leading advocates of pedestrian and bicycle safety. She was the founder and former director of the Thunderhead Alliance, a coalition of bicycle advocacy groups. She was 36.
Unfortunately, the irony of her death makes it somewhat amusing. Death isn’t amusing. I’m trying hard not to laugh. That really sucks.

(12:30 AM now as I type this) I know that sometimes it might not be that late, but when you’ve got a potentially long day tomorrow, then it is! (besides, I find I’m sleep-deprived on the weekends generally anyhow)
