There are all sorts of deformities, some easier to deal with than others. But, as this family shows, you look for and speak to the human spirit that lies untouched by the deformity, rather than being stopped by the deformity.

The baby was born with no face. Something like 30-40 percent of the bones in her face don’t exist - no jaw, no cheekbones, no eye sockets. Doctors are saying its the worst case they’ve ever seen.

She is now 20 months old and is walking.

Treacher-Collins Syndrome, a genetic defect that results in a reduction of the bones that make up and support the face. The little girl in the on-line video is missing 30-40% of her facial/cranial bones, leaving a face that has little resemblance to anything normal. The treatment is reconstruction of existing bones and implantation of missing structures. It is a long, hard road for them.
