Oh no, not again OR Two years, TWO layoffs, can I get an AMEN?

Ah well. Nothing gold ever stays, eh?

As of today, I’m out of a job again. The company I was working for up and decided to fold this morning. Hence, yours truly is a-lookin.

I need a job. I feel like Job.

AMEN and pass the beer nuts.

I was laid off in August. Put on your suit of armor, buddy, 'cause it’s an ugly job market out there. Prior to this, I’d never had an interview and not gotten an offer. In the past two months, I have come in second THREE TIMES. It’s murdering my ego.

Ah well. I understand unemployment benefits have been extended in Illinois to last for a year…what the hell am I doing temping like a chump?!

Enough of my self-pity. Best of luck, Manservant.

Sheesh, Manservant, you DO get the prize for worst luck. Sorry to hear about this. I’ll be sure to pass on any leads I know of.

I’m sorry MH - I’ve been laid off since June. It’s a grim, grim world.

One word of advice - put just as much detail as you can in your résumé - apparently there are so many people looking that the first cut is based on whether you have exactly what they are looking for, and the people they have checking for this are often don’t know anything but what words to look for.

Looks like it’s back to Premio with you.

Too bad we fired 'em!

I too was laid off twice in a year, this last time just two weeks ago.

But I found out today that the company which folded last December is coming back. I really liked working there, and I think the idea is sound and given the chance will take off and make everyone involved pretty much wealthy.

I met with them today. I have an offer to go back and work for them. BUT. There’s no office now, they work out of the CTO’s home. Financing is tight, there’s about 7 months of it left unless more money gets put in (which it probably will given who the investors are, and some other things I heard). I’d start out at a reduced salary (everyone is), and with stock (not options - stock).

I want to go back and work with them. I just don’t know if I can afford it. Much better than being unemployed though.

Three times in a year and a half, by the same company, for me.

With your mad skillz, you won’t be unemployed soon. Keep your head up!

Yikes, that is bad. Poor {{Manservant}}. If I had a company, I’d hire ya!

Damn stupid companies.

We shall drown our problems in much beer and grappa. And hot tub bubbles.
