Back in high school, I once got a C converted to an A on a Social Studies essay. Among the things I was marked down for was the use of the word “chuse” – and when I demonstrated that that was the spelling used in the Constitution, the teacher gave up and gave me an A for the paper. (Yes, I was a bit of a problem! :p)
