Oh, the scourge, the heartbreak and embarrassment. And the pain, yes PAIN

Well, since hand modelling is out and foot modelling kinda sickens me I guess I better keep growing a garden and putting food by.

My pepper sauce is not so hot. I leave them whole and pickle them. Mainly we just use the liquid. Sometimes I eat one or two.

My dermatologist suggested VaniCream. I love that stuff. It’s not greasy and stays put all day, and it doesn’t burn. Whatever you use, rub some into your hands, then coat with a thick layer before donning those nitrile gloves. Works a charm, it does.

I’ve heard of Vani cream.
My hands are a whole lot better. I’m thinking the corn shucking party tomorrow may actually be painless.

Is there a food pantry in your area that’s taking donations?

Not likely. In the past I’ve donated to the women’s shelter. They’re not taking any donations, except monetary.

If Mr. Wrekker was home he would bring excess garden offerings to people in the community. I’m too scared to do that myself. These are people that wouldn’t necessarily be fastidious as I am.
We’ll manage.
The corn has been harvested. 2 1/2 bushels.
I picked a near bushel of peas. I have permanently purple fingers.
I do believe the tomatoes are finally played out.

Let the produce productions start!!

Corn can be dehydrated. It is suggested to blanch it first (I’d rather be shot) to stop the sugars from turning to starches.

Yeah–I learned my lesson, I can tell you that.

@VOW, the corn is in the freezer. Thank heavens that’s done.
We have all the peas shelled. We all have purple hands.
They are blanched and cooling.

I hate my life.

(The lil’wrekker is not happy with her life, either)

ebay has one for sale for about $250. It has everything: Mixer, blender, meat grinder, and vegetable chopper thingy.

Man, I had no idea these things existed. That’s impressive.

I inherited one of those Oster systems, with many additional attachments, had it until about 2 years ago. The damn thing was probably as old I me, and I ain’t young. It just was too hard to maintain, trying to find replacement gears and lube seizing up. Finally threw it away and got a Kitchen-Aid.

My Oster Kitchen Center went to the Big Kitchen in the Sky years and years ago. It was great for food prep for canning and drying. I replaced it with a Kitchen Aid stand mixer and a blender. The only thing I’ve found that can do all the wonderful things that the Kitchen Center did is a Bosch Universal Plus kitchen machine, which could set you back $350-$500, then you add the blender and food processor attachments for another $200.

Oh, I want, I want!

Gotta win the Lottery, first, though.

I miss my Oster.
