Oh yeah, it pays to be nice

A bit of an update with this.
A detective finally called me back after weeks of bugging them.
You see my brother in law has a big file down there and when I gave my name they asked if we were related and after that just kind of blew me off with a warning that I should have known better then to go in such a bad neighborhood.
I was pretty pissed off at that so I kept calling them and leaving messages for them about how I couldn’t understand how such a simple case is being pushed under the rug. I mean how much more could they want? They had all her information and knew she had a prior record.
So, they finally get around to calling me back so I can make another report so they can swear out a warrant.
They had already talked to her and first she said it wasn’t her and that someone else has been going around town using her name. So they asked if I could identify her if I saw her. Yep!
Then her next story was that she was intoxicated and that it must have been a mistake that she walked away with my phone. Um, nope.
I told him she knew full well what she was doing since when she got out of my van I called her by name and asked where the hell she was going with my phone and that I needed it back and she started running from me.
He said they were going to get that warrant and go after her and that I might be called down to identify her or testify or something and that because she has prior thefts (over two) this one will get her a fine, send her to jail for two years and she will either have to turn over my phone or pay for a new one.

And for those keeping track, I nailed the other side of my van so now I have matching doors.
