So yes, we all knew I was certifiable, so I’ve now been able to add a Certificate in Translation (French to English) to my oh-so-impressive credentials.

Actually it was pretty cool; it so happened that last spring, my brother Theo completely forgot about one of his final exams and had to re-write it in August, and I had to do two summer courses. Irritating, but it had as its consequence that we both graduted at the fall convocation last Thursday. So Mom got to see us both graduate at the same time for the first time in our lives.
One little contretemps, though … the numbers on the order cards must have been wrong in the Continuing Education faculty, because everyone got completely muddled around and the guy who was reading out people’s names basically just despaired of naming people’s programs and stopped doing so midway through. As a result of which, it was announced to the world that I was graduating with a Certificate of Proficiency in English as a Second Language.
Yes. Matt McLauchlin… succesfully learned English. Finally, something to tell tourists when they comment on how well I speak it. 
Well, as long as it’s the right diploma (it is).
So yeah, I got the Dean’s Honour List; Theo for his part, finished his BA in poli.sci. with First Class Honours and the Dean’s Honour List. Go him!
And for me, it’s just in time to… go back again in January to start my graduate diploma in translation. waves tiny flag
