I’ve always wondered this. At O’Hare International Airport, you have terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. Whatever happened to Terminal 4? Or is it simply a non-passenger terminal and therefore is not listed? Even if this is the case, I don’t ever recall seeing it identified on a map of O’Hare. What’s the deal?
That’s where the CIA parks the spaceships. It’s closer than Area 51.
No, really,
this article says that Terminal 4 is coming soon. however, I couldn’t find anything as to why there’s no Terminal 4 now, when there’s a terminal 5.
My guess: Note that Terminal 5 is the “International Terminal.” When it was built, they might have anticipated needing another domestic terminal in the future, and left number 4 available.
I think they turned Terminal #4 into the gateway to the Bus and Shuttle Center.
This post at rec.travel.air says Terminal 4 was the temporary international terminal in the first floor of the parking garage. When the new international Terminal 5 opened, it was turned into more parking.
