...ohh God... please not my cat...

Hooray! :::happy dance:::

Give Max a little extra babying for me, m’kay? And Inigo (my kitty) sends his best get well wishes.

Keep us updated!

Wonderful news!

 I’m so pleased Max is doing better. Here’s hoping and praying for his quick recovery.

Max will do very well without his tail. One of the cats we had when I was growing up, Shortcut, lost his tail just before we acquired him. Shortcut did everything he wanted to, including climb, once he got used to not having his “balancing pole.”

Just happened to be able to pass by and read the thread.

Whammo, glad to hear your baby is doing better! I’ve two cats/kids of my own and I think I’d crack up if anything happened to them.

{{{{{big hugs for Max}}}} and a ##scratch## on his little fuzzy head.

That’s a cute kitty name!

So glad to hear Max is doing better! ::pets Max, gives him some kitty marijuana (catnip)::

Just saw your posting. Glad to hear Max is doing better, but I will keep him in my prayers. Anyone who cares so much about their pet must be a great person. I know the pain of losing an animal I love. I had my cat Baby put to sleep after thirteen years of love. Actually got pet condolence cards from people who knew how broke up I was. I now have two cats, Tobermory and the Road Warrior. Whammo, keep us posted on how the cat is.

for all his injuries, i’ll bet max wouldn’t trade one night of prowling for all the couch sitting in the world. way to go max! you’re in the <9 lives club! my cat is down to 7 and working on 6. we just moved a couple weeks ago so he’s about due for a territory dispute incident.

Yay for Max!! I know the relief of seeing that “there” look in a kitty’s eyes. I know it pales in comparison, but when we brought our little boy kitty home from being fixed, he freaked out and tried to run, but his rear kept dragging on the carpet, we couldn’t catch him and he went flying all over the house spreading blood and pus everywhere. He opened up his stiches, etc. Anyway, the first time he looked up at me without growling and snarling, my heart grew a thousand wings. Hope Max gets better and better.

Hurray, Max!! Keep up the good work.

I have good news about Max! We just brought him home from the Vet. My vet said that according to the blood tests his kidneys were working fine. He improved so much today. He’s still one messed up cat but the vet said that he thought the fear of life or death is over. In his words he said, “This cat is very, very lucky to be alive. He took one hell of a hit.” He isn’t eating yet, though I plan on tempting him with some tuna juice later… I have a suspision that that might work. He still has very bloody urine and can’t control his bladder, were going to have to express it every few hours. Were hoping that after he heals and the bruising and swelling goes down that he will regain that… I hope I hope I hope!! L

He goes back to the vet in the morning for checks and additional tests. If he continues healing at this rate the doctor wants to do the surgery to remove his tail on wednesday. It doesn’t appear to hurt him, the seperation caused pretty much paralysis of it of course.

Again… thanks for the kind words! I’ll keep updates…

thank goodness! i am so happy max is recovering!!

 for Max, Whammo, and GF!

So good to hear! I’m glad Max is doing better and is back home.

I am very glad to hear such good news!

true, zwalld. the hardest thing about keepin a cat is the kitty roulette one must play. that said, i could never keep my guys (manfred and rudy) in. anyone ever notice indoor cats don’t really have that “there” look in their eyes? i view them (indoor cats) as forlorn little truncated beings. sad but true, in my opinion. this opinion in no way attempts to downplay the very real pain a pet owner feels when a pet is hurt. love to maxwell and whammo.

Yay for Max! I definitely wouldn’t worry about him losing his tail. One of my cats was born without a tail, some sort of manx siamese mix I guess, but it’s never bothered her.

I must disagree. I have both inside and outside cats. The inside cats have the “there” look. It’s just a different feline filosophy.

Congratulations, Whammo! Good for Max. Glad to hear that everything’s okay now.

Peace,

Max with no tail, huh. Hmmm. Maybe you should change his name to “Min”.
Sorry, couldn’t resist. Guess I’m just giddy with relief.
