They don’t, specifically. But the structure of the internet necessarily groups up certain ranges of IPs in a physical area and you can simply consult a list of what IPs belong to what ISPs or what networks and figure out where they’re from. They can’t pinpoint you exactly using this method but they can generally know the city and certainly the state. There’s really no way around this except to restructure the internet. Or, for an individual user, using a VPN gets around this entirely.
Yeah, probably. Not sure how popular officially approved government porn would be with rebellious teenagers, though.
Oh I agree, it’d be considered lame and kids would make fun of people who admitted to watching it, and most of them would still go for the more extreme stuff, but I think it might serve as an on-ramp that gets them up to speed on the freeway instead of just going from stop to freeway speeds. And just representing normal people having normal sex would add a lot of value to the whole picture I think.
Plus… you know what, that’d be good to have for just… normal adults, too. There’s so fucking little healthy normal sexual content made that I bet a lot of people would appreciate it.
My understanding is that they’ve tried to. How hard or successfully can be debated but they supposedly tried to eliminate illegal stuff, revenge porn and other things that (to be pragmatic) open them to liability. It is still, of course, a porn site full of naked people doing naked people things but I think they want to protect their brand and revenue versus some Albanian guy who’ll just move his servers full of sketch elsewhere if it came down to it.
I’m sure you can still find stories or complaints though since I believe it’s still easy to upload content and, given the amount of stuff, you can have someone 18 months later discovering that their video is on the site and now having to go through hoops to get it taken down
Back in the day, that on-ramp was called “skinemax”.
First,
that article is behind a paywall. I am always willing to read cites. I am unwilling to create a free account and log in to read them.
I would like to point out that a wide variety of non-vanilla sex also shows affection. I am so glad for Meatloaf because I have had to quote him on many occasions “I would do anything for love, but I won’t do that.”
Sure, that’s true, but porn rarely shows that.
How about they do what the rest of the world did and fucking wait til they’re adults.
It should never be sanctioned or given out as “Teen porn”.
Thats ridiculous.
Just like giving kids sips of wine. To break them in to alcohol.
Kids do not need a “gateway” to porn. They’ll figure it out, hopefully parents tell them the shit is fake and that’s not how it really works in a relationship.
Boys especially get the wrong idea about women. It may even increase their frustrations.
It is dangerous.
IMO
I’m saying that if somebody produces government-approved porn which shows affection between the perforrmers. just how vanilla would it be? I remember a thread from years back about a Teen Cosmo or some similar magazine including a letter from a girl asking about anal sex in one of their advice collumns. I would at the very least include something like 'You and other people may want to try other things. It is important that everybody gives enthusiastic consent and nobody gets hurt!"
You think the rest of the world and the US teenagers aren’t looking at porn?
Compared to now, when they open pornhub and the first thing they see is step-sibling roleplay where the guy chokes and spits on the girl?
I appreciate demonstrating my post precisely, and with such quick service.
Oh I know they’re looking.
But sanctioning it is not a good idea.
As advertised “For Teens”
That’s stupid.
I cannot agree to that.
I guess I’m worrying needlessly. No teen in their normal thinking would do more than make fun of it.
Say what now? Porn was miuch harder for a minor to get before the internet. I and every other boy I knew had quite a stash.
In the age of the internet, kids will be viewing porn. It is important to discuss various issues with them befoire they do.
OTTOMH I cannot think of another country with a drinking age of 21. My sister and many other Jewish teens visited Israel. They all shared that since the drinking age there was much lower (I believe it was 16) they consumed alcohol legally. IIRC some countries simply don’t have a minimum drinking age.
Which are some of the many reasons to talk to kids before they begin watching porn on a regular basis.
If your kid has a smart phone, laptop or access to either- sooner or later they will be watching porn. It is as inevitable as teens having sex. The correct approach is to provide information that will help them and keep them safe. Trying to block all porn will be about as effective as abstinence only education is at preventing pregnancy.
QFT.
Personally, I talked to my kids about it. They hated it but I did it anyway.
That’s the only way to teach a kid properly. Some faked porn, vanilla or not, is not gonna do it.
Talk to your teen. Make sure they know porn is fake. If they are sexually active, get girls on BC and teach about safe sex to all.
Its the only way.
In fact, its your responsibility as a parent.
Oops, I missed that. I totally agree. Porn featuring people who care about each other and are actually enjoying themselves is vastly superior to professional porn. I also gather that ‘mainstream’ porn now involves a lot of men being verbally abusive to women, choking them and spitting on them. This is one of the many reasons I do not consume professional porn. People having sex on camera should IMHO involve kissing, respect, and enthusiastic consent.
I believe its all men in this thread besides me.
Honest question:
Why are men so invested in their porn?
I’ve looked at some, I find it degrading to every woman.
Even if its just women on screen. I feel sorry for them.
They just look miserable or are acting enthusiastic enough tho it is not good acting. At all.
Demeaning is the word.
Back in the day, I wrote (but never mailed) a “Penthouse forum” letter that was in the form of “Dear PH forum, I never believed your letters* until one day in church I met this girl” and it goes on like this for a while..“dated, held hands, thunk pure thoughts…got married” until “on our wedding night, we turned off all the lights and DID IT. Once. Took 3 minutes. I think we did it right, but we didn’t talk about it. Then we watched MASH. I highly recommend it.”
*I think this was required for every letter
Have you ever met an American?
I am American. Met quite a few.
What does that mean?
i don’t know if this thread is all men. I have no idea how many porn consumers are women. I know that within the last three decades or so, the number of women watching gay male porn has skyrocketed.
Speeking for myself, I have a higher than normal sex drive. I think about and crave sex more than the average man. So, I have a lot of downloaded porn.
As I have said before, I get my libido from my beloved Mother. I have no idea how much porn she owns. This is mostly because I have repeatedly made it clear that I do not want to know. I know she has at least a few DVD’s because we were at some party and somebody gave new, sealed porn DVD’s to the birthday person as a gag gift. They didn’t want them. They asked if anybody else did. Mom shouted out and claimed them.
I say this in complete seriousness, then you are looking at the wrong porn. There are many varieties. Yes, most professional stuff involves women with too much plastic surgery who unconvingly pretend interest and arousal. That leaves some professional stuff- some of which is produced by women and intended for women. It also leaves all the amateurs posting things on the web.
Friday The 13th- Jason Takes New York is a horror movie. It is crap. I personally enjoy it. But, it is crap.
John Carpenter’s The Thing is a horror movie. It is fantastic in every way.
My point is porn varieties are as different as any other type of film.
I understand better. Thank you.
