Ohio's homophobic bastard Secretary of State

Slytherin?

I’m glad Issue 1 is on the ballot. It will give the voters a chance to tell the Secretary of State just how we feel about gay marriages. I am a moderate Republican and it’s my belief and hope that this Issue will fail so convincingly that our esteemed representatives will get the message loudly and clearly that they need to move onto real problems. How they can justify spending all their energy on this when we’ve lost countless jobs in this state, when thousands of Ohioans don’t have health care, and when the cost of education keeps rising is beyond me.

Rick, I understand where you’re coming from.

While it’s possible that he truly believes what he says, he’s a likely candidate for governor in a few years. http://www.coshoctontribune.com/news/stories/20041024/localnews/1471684.html
My link pretty well sums up the situation about the issue in Ohio.

Most of the Ohio Republican establishment, who have nothing to gain/lose, are against the ammendment. They know it possibly/probably won’t withstand a court challenge, and almost certainly isn’t good for the image of the state.

But Blackwell, and others who have future political ambitions, appear to take the position that it will help their future chances by supporting the ammendment.

I must sadly report that two signs imploring us to Vote Yes on Issue 1 have popped up in my neighborhood within a few houses of one another. I have yet to see a Vote NO on Issue 1. :frowning: Where do I get one of those?

I can only surmise that these asswipes must fear that same-sex couples will prove better at this marriage thing than heteros. Fucktards.
