Oiriginal Twilight Zone Episode "Static"

I saw this last night and I remember it because it has a very interesting look to it. It seems almost 3-D, more fluid then regular TV and every other twlight zone episode I’ve every seen.

For those who have seen the episode, Does anyone know how this effect was achieved?

It was one of six eps shot on video and transferred to 16mm film stock. It was a feeble attempt by CBS to save money. (source: TV.com)
