Ok - I'm cleaning my closet...

And hanging up all this crap!

I’ve got my tunes on and my comfey clothes happening.

Anyone want to join me in a Friday night organization fest? I am such a massive dork.

I’d love to, but 98.5% of my stuff is in boxes, waiting for tomorrow’s move.

But it’s in organized boxes…impressive, for a move that I’m making.

I spent all day today AND yesterday cleaning my closet. 6 full bags of trash came out of it. Not to mention the 3 boxes of stuff I can use at a garage sale and 2 boxes I can give to charity. That doesn’t even include old clothes and old textbooks.

Man I had a lot of crap. It’s clean now so my time is best spent drinking.

Man o’ Frikin’ Man - how is it possible that I have this many clothes.

This is totally rediculous…

i am reminded of the lilith quote: " i finally get the closet of my dreams… and my husband comes out of it."

be carefull alice. no wire hangers.

I sold heaps of my clothes on eBay and made pretty good money. Unfortunately the money was so good that I ended up selling too much of my stuff, so now I need to buy more.

I also invested in some gorgeous wooden hangers. They’re so nice that some of my clothes pale in comparison, so now I need to buy more.

Heh - I’m in the midst of some serious belated spring cleaning, so my closets aren’t the only thing getting a good going over. I have a lot of area yet to cover, and the task is scary, at best.

The good part, however, is that I have a lot of little baby boy things to get rid of(stuff my almost 7 mo old has outgrown, doesn’t use anymore, or never used), and my neighbor’s are expecting a boy in November. Very convenient. The rest? Well, I have a trash pile, an AmVets pile, and a sell on eBay pile. I already have enough collected for the eBay pile that I could start putting up auctions, but I really need to spend the time working on the house(especially while my older kids are at their dad’s), so I’m just putting it all together, and when I get done, I’ll have a couple of days of eBay-o-rama, putting it all up!

I also should be cleaning and re-organizing, rather than sitting at this silly machine. My grandmother arrives from England next week, and she wants to see my apartment. I’m thrilled, but that means it has be be ultra-clean. Any advice on organizing craft stuff? Please ignore the 3 yards of fabric from Joann Fabrics – I swear I only went in there for thread and a pin cushion!

I’m pretty sure that I can’t close the doors of this damn closet, and I’ve already taken a shwack of stuff out.

I wonder how much $$ you get on e-bay for clothes - I usually consign mine. Kayeby?

Build yourself a bonfire in the garden and burn the stuff.
Then go shopping.

Are you CRAZY!?!?!?

Used clothes are worth big $$. When I finally get all the stuff together that I’m going to take to the consignment store, it should be close to $1,000. Burn it indeed!

I’m with ya–our desk finally came in (the last of our furniture for our new place), so the last bit of stuff is getting unboxed, and then Mrs. AG wants everything on the right side of the big walk-in switched with everything on the left. Plus, there’s the pictures to put in albums, the magazines sorted–all in all, beaucoup closet fun!

Alice, I’m not really sure about eBay in the US, since there is more competition, but also more buyers. Obviously, designer stuff gets higher prices (I’ve had clothes approach 90% of what I paid for them new) but occasionally I can be a little disappointed with what an item fetches. If possible, I’d do searches on completed auctions for the labels that you’re trying to sell and compare them to the consignment prices (keeping in mind that eBaying is harder work than consigning your clothes).

The only nice-label non-vintage consignment store that’s near me will take about $10 for tops that cost $160 retail when I can get $60 + for it on eBay.

Yah - that’s kinda putting me off. It’s pretty easy to just bring things into my store and sell them. Also, we’re a little more upscale, so your $160 top would probably get more like $50 at my store…

I’m looking around e-bay though - nice amber jewlrey here - I think I might bid, so I have even MORE stuff to cram in my closet…
