OK now - which *arm* goes on top?

Right-handed, left wrist on top. I tried it the other way, and it took a few tries to get it right. And still, it felt like a contortion.

Contradicting myownself: Now, when I fold my arms, I’m finding my left wrist on top and I have to concentrate to put the right wrist on top. Maybe it’s an odd/even-day thing :).

Too bad we can’t edit poll responses!

Just so I know that I’m visualizing the poll question correctly: We’re talking about the arm whose hand is tucked, right? That’s the only way I can see the wrist being on top of the other forearm.

Yep. If my left forearm is on top, then my left hand is tucked under my right upper arm flab.

Then I was visualizing correctly. My poll answer stands. And all you right-handed left-wrister mutants better watch your step…

That’s how I interpret it. The arm on top is the same as the grabbed bicep and the tucked-under-elbow hand.

Right handed. Left forearm and wrist on top. Left hand completely tucked under right arm. Right hand wedged against left bicep, figers pointing up, and the thumb tucked under the left arm.

Wow. That was weird. I crossed my arms and found the left was over the right. So then I switched to see how the other way felt. Wait, left is still over right. I need to put this hand there and tuck that hand there, and … wait, left is still over right.

It took me three tries. And it felt freaky.

I’ve voted right-right on every one of these polls. I should be a teabagger.

I’m not sure if my answer tracks with the OP question. I don’t tuck either hand inside. Instead, I hold my elbows.

First I take hold of my right elbow from below with my left hand.
Then I hold my left arm just above the elbow with my right hand.

When I answered “right-handed, right wrist on top,” I meant literally on top, i.e. higher up vertically. But neither wrist is tucked in behind. Both wrists are out in front of the assemblage, and both elbows behind. Does anyone else do it that way?

Does the OP assume that the hands are tucked in? If I were to tuck one hand in, it would be my right hand tucked behind my left arm, wrist flexed convexly, right hand resting against my left flank, with my left palm resting on my right arm, left wrist nearly straight (slightly concave). And then my answer would still be right-handed, right wrist on top.

Cross-dominant (more dexterous with the right but behave as lefty for sports), right arm goes on top.

Oops, I answered the wrong way - my right hand clasps my left bicep, and my left hand is tucked under my right arm, so I said I had my right wrist on top, but after reading the thread I realise that of course my left wrist is on top of my right forearm. And like others, it took me several attempts to do it the other way!
