OK this has gone too far

I posted a couple of months ago about how I’m constantly seeing silly ads for various “magnetic therapy” devices–jewelry, braces, belts, pillows, etc.

Well I was reading a pet supply catalog today and they have this crap for dogs! Magnetic bedding inserts, and a magnetic “collar” that looks like a men’s necklace to me… ( http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/sc_view.cfm?pCatId=58 )

sigh

On the other hand, I found a cool non-motorized automatic litterbox for $35 ( http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=788 ) [the picture is much larger in the print catalog]

From an actual catalog: “Disco balls create an enchanting, dazzling effect of light shafts, adding movement and glamour to any occasion”
the Abrams’ bris was certainly memorable

Maybe making this cake will make you feel better! I wish they had a photo of the finished product, though.
Mmmmmm

But whatever you do, make sure no one leaves the cake out in the rain. BEG

'cuz I don’t think that I can take it…

It took so long to bake it!

Dammit, I’ll never have that recipe again!

Oh, nooooooooooooooooo…

Back to OpalCat’s original post.

I don’t get the magnet thing either. But it’s interesting to know that horse trainers have been using magnet therapy for years on their million dollar investments.
Go figure.

~200 posts. Time to change my username.

There’s a little bit of superstition in horse training (Hell! In horse betting…but that’s another story) I’m a stronger believer in feeding horses onions to thin the blood to make it race faster.
This use of magnets seems to hark back to a time when the Williams Company sold electric toothbrushes, shaving brushes, belts, etc.
The “electric” part occurred at the factory when they’d give the product a jolt.
The only thing this therapy seems to accomplish is to part folks from money.
Have you heard anything great about magnets and medicine from the New England Journal of Medicine or the alternative therapy crowd?
No?
Then I really believe you’re a step away from snake oil.
