OK, what is the law of fives?

I first saw a reference to it here:

when I was reading up on Rock, Paper, Scissors, Spock, Lizard.

Then I started looking around for this Law of Fives. Everywhere I went I found some inane quotation with lots of misspellings and pot jokes.

Typical internet research - data but no info. One thing does occur to me - boy, somebody has a lot of time on his hands to play Rock Paper Scissors, you know what I’m saying?

Anyway, I sure would like to know what the law of 5s really is…

Anyone out there have any serious info on this?

The only Law of Fives I know of isn’t serious. I don’t think. It’s kind of hard to tell, really. It comes from the Principia Discordia, and states:

Do a ‘find’ for the word “Fives” and you’ll get to it. Make up your own mind. :slight_smile:

There is nothing serious at all about the law of fives. It just happens to be correct in the form Dijon gives it in. :smiley:

Cecil mentioned this in some column, I think it was one of the Illuminati columns, but you can never be sure. At any rate, 2 and 3 also have some significance (since 2+3=5) and Cece mentioned that any integer can be made from a combination of 2 and 3 in some way.

And you say that isn’t significant? Huh.

If you live in the Hampton Roads area, the law of fives states that up to five cars may pass through the intersection after the light changes to red. (I understand this holds true in No. Virginia)
